THE quality array of international cricket stars have started arriving in Port Elizabeth to join the Kings XI Punjab as they gear up for the start of the DLF Indian Premier League which bursts into action in Cape Town on April 18.

Kings XI coach Tom Moody, a former Australian international, said his team were happy to have Aussie speedster Brett Lee and Indian all- rounder Irfan Pathan in their ranks already and they were expecting their remaining stars over the next few days.

“We have Simon Katich (Australia), Mahela Jaya- wardene (Sri Lanka) and a young Aussie quick bowler Burt Cockely arriving tomorrow. The other Sri Lankan, Kumar Sangakkara, is arriving a day after that and the rest will be slowly coming in after their various commitments.”

He added that Englishman Ravi Bopara would fly into Port Elizabeth on Saturday and that Indian superstar Yuvraj Singh would be arriving on Sunday or Monday. Singh has just completed a lengthy tour of New Zealand.

“He could well play against the Warriors on Tuesday,” said Moody, adding that the team had settled well in Port Elizabeth and were looking forward to their warm-up matches against the Chevrolet Warriors on Saturday (NMMU) and Tuesday (St George‘s Park).
