The 40-year-old tradition was started by Herald Citizen of the Year 2009 and Zwartkops Trust conservation officer Jenny Rump when she was a schoolgirl. Bring a torch if you are planning to attend. Donations will be collected for the Children’s Feeding Trust.

Participants should gather at 7.30pm this evening on the Redhouse village green for the first event and, at the same time on Thursday, under Settlers Bridge for the second event – in the form of a walk along Amsterdamhoek Road. Picture: JUDY DE VEGA
