THE National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) said yesterday that motor wage talks had reached a deadlock during negotiations on Wednesday.
Numsa represents 70000 workers employed in garages and in the component, workshop and automotive sectors.The union said it has been engaged in prolonged wage negotiations with the Retail Motor Industry and Fuel Retailers’ Association about wage demands for 2010. The union is demanding a 20% wage increase across the board. – I-Net Bridge
