BRING IT ON FIGHT TO THE FINISH. Directed by Bille Woodruff with Christina Milian, Holland Roden, Vanessa Born and Gabrielle Dennis.

THIS movie might be predictable and without depth but there is more than one reason to watch it.

This is the fifth Bring It On movie and features Christina Milian as Lina Cruz a tough Latina cheerleader from East Los Angeles who transfers to a posh Malibu high school after her widowed mother marries a wealthy man.

Lina finds herself not quite fitting into her new environment and is soon being targeted by Avery, the snobbish and ultra-competitive all-star cheer-leading captain.

Lina takes on the challenge of turning a nothing squad called the Sea Lions into a squad worthy of Nationals.

A plot that might sound familiar if you have watched any of the previous Bring It On movies. Lina whips the Sea Lions into shape with the help of two former team mates and her new stepsister, Skyler (Holland Roden).

Her team mates, Gloria (Vanessa Born) and Treyvonetta (Gabrielle Dennis), deliver some of the funniest lines in the movie along with Brandon Gonzales who plays Gloria’s softhearted thug boyfriend Victor.

There are also some silly yet funny confrontations between Avery’s friends and Lina’s , which are either plain stupid or quite witty.

The movie follows the same basic route as all the other Bring It On movies, with the main character learning some valuable lesson about life while taking the team to victory and falling in love with “the wrong type of guy”.

Despite this the movie is funny. Eleanor Douglas-Meyers
