LEADING British club DJ Eddie Armani has left the cold winter of his home country for the sunny shores of South Africa, to play at the finals of the Weekend Post J&B Fashion Challenge to be held at Coco De Mer tonight at 8pm.

Armani is both a talented DJ and producer in funky house and electro music.

His love for house music started after listening to Graeme Park’s mix tapes.

After learning to mix on vinyl, Armani broadened his horizons and started playing at local bars.

Being in the music business for 15 years, Armani has made a name for himself by collaborating with many big names in the industry including Pete Tong, Raul Rincon, Ian Carey, Herd and Fitz, Hoxton Whores, Whelan and Di Scala, Tony Walker, Dave, Huey, Soulseekerz, Oliver Lang, Brandon Block and Howard Donald.

Not only does Armani collaborate with other artists, but he also does the vocals for some of his own tracks.

One Foot in the Groove Records signed Armani’s first track Feel This with vocals from Shannagh D.

Currently Armani is working on remixes with the Groovemasters.

He had two number one hits on major dance charts in 2007 and released his latest track Naughty North in March.

Armani also produces songs for other acts as well.

He recently produced a track with Gavin Lampitt under the House Addicts called Keep on Pumpin’ it Up featuring one of the UK’s biggest vocalists Kay Jay. The track has an energetic electro feel, while the use of piano gives it an “old school” feel.

Being an international DJ, there have been many highlights such as performing at clubs in Ibiza including Cafe Mambo, Plastik, Hush, Es Paradis and El Divino.

This will be Armani’s third visit to South Africa. “I love the weather in South Africa and that is why I come back every time.” he said.

With high expectations of the South African crowd, Armani hopes that his genre of music will excite.
