THE Barnyard Theatre at The Crags, near Plettenberg Bay has a sumptuous bill of fare lined up for the festive season.

The programme begins on Thursday and runs through until January 9 next year.

Eighteen different artists will be performing on 23 evenings, belting out a veritable feast of music, topped off with some hilarious comedy.

For aficionados of rock ‘n roll and the music of the ’60s there is an Elvis Forever evening on Sunday, two performances of The Fab Four (December 22 and 23), in which Duck Chowles and his band play a wide selection of the songs of The Beatles and Born in The Bayou, will be a thumping rendition of all the favourite hits of Credence Clearwater Revival on December 30.

60 Something, directed by Mike McCullagh, pays homage to the hits of Petula Clark, Roy Orbison, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner and many more, runs on December 26 and 27.

The Best of Clint and Co, on December 29, is a musical revue of the greatest rock numbers of the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s, including standards from the likes of Van Morrison, Joe Cocker, U2 and Andrea Bocelli.

Clint and Co will also be heading up a New Year’s Eve Party at The Barnyard that will see in the new year in style.

An evening of The Music of Sting and The Police will be led by James Stewart and his band.

Artists performing in their own right include Prime Circle (this Thursday), Bobby van Jaarsveld (Friday), Navi Redd (December 21), Zamar (December 28), The Bats (January 2), PJ Powers (January 3) and Watershed (January 4 and 5).

Powers has been a singing star for 30 years and The Bats line-up of Paul Ditchfield, Pete Clifford and Derek Gordon seem to enjoy eternal youth.

On December 24, Mark Banks will blaze back to the bay of beauty with much hysterical nonsense about the up coming 2010 World Cup, crime, Eskom, Telkom, the ANC Youth League, how to raise and train a vuvuzela, ways of spotting a tourist in Plettenberg Bay and plenty more hilarity.

Barry “The Cousin“ Hilton will tread the boards for two consecutive evenings.

The final two evenings of the festive season at The Barnyard, on January 8 and 9, will see Dancing Queen pay tribute to the music of all time greats, Abba and Queen.

Doors open at 7pm for all performances.
