ROCK bands Jack Hammer, Akkedis and Joint State will be on tour together around the Garden Route this week.

Jack Hammer, fronted by blues singer and guitarist Piet Botha, formed 25 years ago and has been touring ever since.

The group performs in English, Afrikaans, Xhosa and Zulu and plays a mixture of rock, reggae and blues music.

Today at 8.30pm the groups will perform at the Wilderness Mini Rock Festival at Fairy Knowle Backpackers in Wilderness.

Entry costs R60.

Tomorrow the three bands will be in action at the Mossel Bay Yacht Club from 9pm, again with a R60 entry fee.

On Wednesday Akkedis will play without the other two bands at the Bungalo Restaurant in Sedgefield.
