INTERNATIONAL drivers are heading for Kyalami in Johannesburg next month for the final round of the world Superstars series. The organisers, the Gauteng Motorsport Company, say the series is in its sixth year and is “one of the fastest-growing international saloon car series”.
It focuses on “luxury, high-performance four-door saloon cars”. These include BMW (550i, M5 and M3), Audi (RS4), Jaguar (S-type R), Chrysler (300C SRT8), Chevrolet (CR8), Cadillac (CTS-V), and Mercedes (C-63 AMG).
The regulations allow for four-door V8-engined production cars with a capacity between three litres and a huge seven litres.
Practice is on Saturday, December 12, and racing begins on Sunday.
“The programme features the first of the two 25-minute plus one lap international Superstars at 11.30am. The second Superstars race starts at 3pm.”
