I’VE BEEN a good girl Santa, can’t I keep it? could well be the Christmas wish of The Herald Greenacres Miss Port Elizabeth Di-Anne Qoto, who has been zooming all over the metro in her shiny silver Chevrolet Aveo Hatch LT.

Di-Anne, the city’s most beautiful ambassador since April, has the use of the stylish Aveo until she passes on her title next year but she’d dearly like to keep it.

“It’s a car for a young person and I love it,” said Di-Anne on a trip to the beachfront last week with La Femme.

And, although the car is compact, Di-Anne thinks it is plenty big enough for her and her gear.

“The car inside is much more spacious than it appears from the outside,” she said, and despite often being weighed down with bags and kit for fashion shoots, she has never run out of space.

The day this photograph was taken, for example, she had spare shoes, a coat-hanger, hair conditioner and a massive tote bag tucked away in the hatchback boot.

The manual Aveo LT has a 1600 engine with a remote key, just the ticket when you are juggling parcels.

When Di-Anne took the Miss Port Elizabeth title she still was learning to drive and has found it a tough year, with roadworks ahead of the Fifa World Cup all over the city. However, she rose to the challenge and now would hate to be without wheels.

General Motors South Africa not only supplies the car for Di-Anne’s full year but also provide all services, licensing and two tanks of fuel each month.

A candidate attorney, Di-Anne has finished her law studies this year and will graduate in April around the same time that The Herald selects a new Miss Port Elizabeth.

It’s been a busy year for our titleholder and Di-Anne has made full use of the prizes she won in the competition, headlined by an activity filled trip to Egypt sponsored by Uniglobe Bay Travel.

Di-Anne took her mother along with her and they had a blast visiting the pyramids and sphinx as well as cruising down the Nile.

Her prize package was worth R246577 and included vouchers from many generous sponsors which Di-Anne said she had really enjoyed using.
