De la Rey crooner  Bok van Blerk in PE

THE big music news in the coming week is the arrival in Port Elizabeth of De la Rey singer Bok van Blerk.

He will perform a one-off concert at Danskraal in Deal Party on Friday, which also features Wicus van der Merwe.

 The annual Powerzone Road Show kicks off next week with some of the countrys most exciting up-and-coming bands performing at Zanzibar in George on Friday.

This years tour is headlined by Port Elizabeth rockers Evolver, who have already had national success with the hit Lets Get Naked . They will be supported by Driverlane, Bloodmoney and two relatively unknown bands, Black Hotels and One Sock Thief.

 A fund-raising concert featuring veteran performers Jody Wayne and Bobby Angel will take place today at the MM Loubser Auditorium. They will be supported by Port Elizabeth artists Abel Erasmus and Chantel.

Doors open at 6pm.
