Makapan back after date with first love

Clive Muller

IT‘S been over two years since we last saw Rantebeng Makapan grace the screens of the popular SABC2 soapie, Generations. After taking a sabbatical from the soapie, Makapan is back in full force and is set to captivate audiences with a new, dramatic storyline into next year. Playing the role of the troubled, yet spoilt Thomas Mashaba – son of the villain, Kenneth (played by actor Seputla Sebogodi) – has come naturally for Makapan....

England decision merits respect

Satellite TV with John Harvey

IT is frequently bandied about in the cricket community that every Test match is important, whether or not a series has been won or lost. Just a week ago his government declared an emergency and pleaded for outside aid to help fight the cholera epidemic sweeping through the country. At last count the official death toll was almost 800 people with many thousands more infected....

ROUND one in the increasingly heated run-up to next year‘s general election has gone to ANC breakaway party Congress of the People (Cope) which yesterday won the right to use their name after the Pretoria High Court dismissed the ANC‘s application to claim the name as its own....

Table settings a visual feast at Christmas time

Sally Kernohan

DAZZLE your Christmas party guests with these easy centrepiece ideas and a different spin on your dessert course. It has now become something of a South African tradition to dispense with the traditional hot Christmas dinner of turkey, roast potatoes and veggies, followed by Christmas pudding. Most folk settle for a cold meal, slap a few chops on the braai or go out to a restaurant....
