Stomp into the year with The Beatles, Elvis

Arts Correspondent

AFTER the success of the monthly Stomps held at the Algoa Bay Yacht Club last year the nostalgic sound of the 60s and 70s music will continue, starting with the first Stomp of the year taking place next Saturday.

The organisers have introduced the concept of each Stomp having a tribute feature.

The first Stomp will have a tribute to the blues theme and the headline band on the night will be the popular Bayside Blues Band.

Also in the line-up for the evening will be The Tomboys, The Hazy Shades, The Geezers, guest artists Bruce Baldwin and Geoff Good as well as compere, Gene Smith.

In the months to follow there will be tributes to The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Cat Stevens.

The result is that it has injected new life into politics and there is renewed interest in the forthcoming general election. This is good for the country and a sign democracy is working here....
