SOUTH Africa increased their medals haul at the African Athletics Championships in Nairobi, Kenya, yesterday with two third-place finishes.
Simon Magakwe clocked 10.14 seconds to win bronze in the men’s 100 metres final behind Ivory Coast’s Ben Youssef Meite (10.08) and Ghana’s Zakari Aziz (10.12).
Egypt filled the first two places in the men’s discus with Abdellatif el Ghazaly (59.30m) winning gold, Yasser Farag (58.71) silver and South Africa’s Victor Hogan (58.11) claiming bronze. – Sapa
